Eco-Sportfest '08 5k XC & CX racing!
Saturday, October 18th, 2008

ECO-SPORTFEST '08 makes its final stop at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, CA starting out with the 5k ‘Cross Country Run at 8:00AM.  The 'cross 5k course is a mix of pavement, dirt, and grass with a couple of race obstacles in between.  Runners will do two laps of the 2.5k course.   With our focus on youth fitness the 5k is FREE to all Juniors 18 and under! 

EcoSportFest ‘08 will feature sponsor booths from SoCalCross 'Green’ sponsors, as well as each respective city’s Green Programs.  Look for The Green Lunch Truck to roll in with lots of organic goodies!

11.2 Convert Cross - Ventura

11.8 CICLE Cross - Los Angeles

11.23 Velocity Cross - Orange

12.7  High Desert Cross - Palmdale

12.21  Santa Cross - Woodland Hills

Each day the GoGreenRacer run and bicycle race will treat the young ones to be a part of the racing action.  The day continues with a full schedule of cyclocross racing as the overall Series Podium will be determined! 

Demo bikes are available in all sizes from Jamis and Specialized.  Junior sizes bikes from Redline provided by the SCNCA!

Do the 5k run AND the cyclocross race for only $5 more! 

Special prizes for best overall "IRON CROSSERS" best male/female finishers overall for 5 race eco-sport series!

The Prestige Series will strive to educate racers and spectators by promoting reduction of car use and transportation bicycling.  Each event in the Series will be solar powered by Energy Efficiency Solar.   

Proceeds from Eco-Sportfest '08 will benefit CICLE www.CICLE.org promoting transportation bicycling.

CARPOOL OR RIDE TO THE RACE. 

VALET BOX WILL BE PROVIDING VIP CARPOOL PARKING TO CARPOOLERS AND WEEKLY GOGREENRACER WINNERS!

RULES:  Top point getters each week (even down weeks) wins a GGR jersey and socks!  Eco-Action scoring ends every Thursday at 9:00pm (Pacific)  Top 5 GoGreenRacer points getters – best seven scores - will be recognized at our series finale on 12/21, Santa Cross.   We will also award the Green Team trophy for the most points overall CX team.
